Working as a human intelligence collector (HUMINT) in the U.S. Army, Brannan was assigned to a variety of special operations units that allowed him to deploy or conduct analysis in support of the global war on terror (OIF/OEF-P). 

Upon leaving the Army, Brannan attended John Carroll University where he was the recipient of The David Matthew Bonnot Award, which funded half of his graduate degree in continental philosophy. Brannan’s expertise is in understanding how philosophy can become weaponized in order to destabilize or undermine a country’s value system through disinformation campaigns.
